Circumstances: Surrey RCMP is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing youth. Joseph Chen was last seen at 2:30 PM on March 2, 2023, in the 16200 block of 88th Ave in Surrey. He has not been seen or heard from since. Police and family are concerned for his health and well-being. It is out of character for this person to be out of touch this long. CASE UPDATE: March 9, 2023 - Investigation has been transitioned over to Delta Police Department following confirmation that Joseph was last seen in Delta on March 2, 2023. On March 2nd, 2023, Joseph left school and boarded a BC transit bus; Joseph disembarked the bus on Annacis Island in Delta; CCTV has placed on Alex Fraser Bridge walking southbound on the east sidewalk; CCTV shortly after that sighting has determined Joseph was no longer on the sidewalk; Joseph has not used his Compass Card, cell phone, or bank card after this time period; Investigators are seeking dash camera video or witnesses who may have seen Joseph on the Alex Fraser Bridge on March 2nd, 2023, between 3:30 and 4:30 pm. If you travelled over the Alex Fraser Bridge during this time and saw Joseph on the east sidewalk, or if you travelled over the Alex Fraser Bridge and have a dash camera in your car, please contact the Delta Police Department at (604)946-4411 and quote TIP file number 2023-5513.

Please read and share the information as you never know who may be able to provide answers to their searching families. On March 12th, 2016 shortly after midnight, Denny Poole and a friend left Dawson Creek with the intent of heading to Fort St John. It is unknown if they intended to walk, hitchhike, or had other means to get there. The duo became disoriented and ended up wandering the highway and back roads for over 20 hours. It was learned that neither of them was prepared to be out for this period of time. At some point, Denny and his friend had a difference of opinion on whether they should continue on their journey or not, and the two ended up separating. The last confirmed sighting of Denny was just south of the Kiskatinaw Bridge on Highway 97. Denny has some disabilities and it is recommended that he be under adult supervision. At approximately 10:00 pm Delphine called her uncle to tell him that she was on her way home from Smithers. She was last seen by her two friends hitchhiking in the east bound lane of Hwy #16.
