Your organization does good, necessary work. Thanks-you! But your slogan is "Reuniting families since 1986". In light of this, I find your celebration of the (probably very traumatic) tearing away of a child, from the mother she has spent nearly every night of her seven and a half years with, to be placed in the care of a father who in reality had only had joint custody with the mother for a few months, to be very, very unsettling. I'm more concerned that the child have speedy reunification with the mother!

It is true that intially when I saw missing children posters and saw it was a parental abduction that I had the impression that the child was not in any immediate danger. I thought the same about teens, that it is probably a runaway situation, but the more I look into it, I see that each of these cases needs to be looked at individually and not stereotyped. The bottom line is a child is missing.

My heart goes out to any child who is put through this as I can't imagine what a parent could possibly be thinking to do such a thing, but my heart particularly goes out to children who are abducted from their families by a stranger. They are put in an unfamiliar situation with an unfamiliar person who has no ties to them and therefore no familial feelings. They are quite literally at the mercy of their captors.

It is also heartbreaking to think about those who have been missing for so long. I try to look at people closer now when I get on a bus or go to a shopping mall, but I think that those who have been gone for so long would be very hard to recognize them and in most cases they would not even be aware that they were missing as they would believe whatever their captors told them and would be confused.

It is a very sad situation, but thank you for being there for the families and for pressing on when society sometimes forgets after the initial search for the child. Once they go on the missing child list, they seem to be forgotten.

Hi, I live in Gatineau Quebec and I keep a poster of Cedrika taped to my car window in hopes someone some where will recognize her. The poster will not come down until she is found. May God's little angels watch over you Cedrika. You are not forgotten.
