What is CodeSearch?

How does cs work

It’s Engaged Corporate Philanthropy - CodeSearch is a rapid response program that engages Corporate Canada in partnership with MCSC and law enforcement in the search for missing children.

It’s Communities United for One Cause - CodeSearch will engage and unite communities across the country. It offers corporations the opportunity to make a difference in the communities where they operate by supporting law enforcement with their resources; most importantly, it can help prevent a missing child tragedy and reunite families.

It’s Effective Partnerships - The Calgary Police Service is pleased to be partnering with MCSC in their efforts to find new and innovative ways to more quickly locate missing children and reunite them with their families. Strategic use of existing and emerging technologies and effective community partnerships are invaluable when it comes to keeping all our children safe.

It’s Groundbreaking Uses for Technology - MCSC is putting technology to use for social good. Technology creates a constantly connected, always accessible network of individuals; CodeSearch provides the tools to engage them in the search for missing children.

“Not everyone watches the 6 o’clock news. Having access to members of the community through non-traditional means of communication can only help in the search to locate missing children,” said Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson. “The more eyes we have on the lookout, the greater the chances we can quickly locate a missing child and safely reunite them with their family.”

The CodeSearch program is available for all law enforcement agencies in Canada to utilize. MCSC would be pleased to discuss this program, and other Search Tools available to law enforcement, at any time. For more information please contact: Tricia Harder

How Does CodeSearch Technology Work?

CodeSearch partner employees download a smartphone application and sign up as field agents to be notified in the event a child goes missing. When a child goes missing, MCSC can send out geo-targeted alerts to any field agents in the area where a child went missing or is expected to be located. If law enforcement requires additional resources in the search, MCSC can access resources from ATVs to helicopters to search and rescue trained personnel who will be committed to the search.

A Content Management Dashboard allows MCSC to locate field agents.
