Can you imagine the fear and desperation that you would feel if your child suddenly disappeared - the horror of not knowing if they would ever return?
It is a nightmare no parent ever wants to face, but it is real for far too many families here in Canada. And while it is difficult for us to grasp the depth of anguish and desperation felt by these searching families we are all touched by their unimaginable situation.
Last year alone there were more than 60,000 children reported missing in Canada. While most of these missing children returned home within a short period of time, many others did not.
MCSC's hands-on approach has achieved success throughout its 23-year history. Our investigators have closed 1,600 cases since 1986–that’s an average of 70 a year–and have assisted law enforcement in over 6,000 cases.
With your help, MCSC will continue to help families with missing children. You will help those whose children have been taken by the other parent, those whose child has been abducted by a stranger, and those whose child has simply disappeared.
